M A Hadley COUNTRY Large Pitcher PIG Vintage American Pottery. Condition is "Used". Shipped with USPS Priority Mail.
My mother was married in 1964 and received Hadley COUNTRY as her wedding dishes. She continued to collect pieces in and around Columbus, OH but also picked up pieces directly from the pottery in Louisville…and she loved a bargain. I suspect this piece was acquired at the pottery as a second. Stray paint marks, areas where the slip missed the clay, glazed blue dust on the interior and this odd repair on the spout (see photos) certainly make it seem like an ugly duckling the pottery was trying to patch together to help it find a home. It would be a wonderful flower vase - perfect in its imperfection. It stands just over 7” high and 5.25” wide at the top, not including the spout. It’s a solid piece otherwise - no breaks, cracks or chips.
