VTG 18" Baby Magic Doll w HTF Magic Thimble Deluxe Reading Topper w Instructions

Description

This is an 18" "Baby Magic" doll with her rare magic thimble. She was made  here in the United States by the by Deluxe Reading Co . and Topper Toy Co. in the 1960's.  Jointed at the neck, shoulder, and hip, she is made with a hard plastic torso, and vinyl head, arms and legs.  She is marked on the back of her neck, Deluxe Toy Corp.,  year, and number 48. A copy of the instruction sheet is with her.  One sheet  with instructions on front and back .
The thimble causes her to open and close her eyes however the left eye does not seem to obey.  The right eye works well.  She also pouts and smiles by pulling her arms up and down.  The thimble is also supposed to make her cry but she has to have the bottle to feed her and make the tears, however, it was not with her.  If you push the arms down too far, the right arm will not come back up so I just brought arms down and she frowned and back up for smile.  Instructions tell how to get the arm to come back up by pressing hard and pushing in on the upper part.
Great flawless face with pink open mouth, rosy cheeks, shiny blue sleep eyes with all lashes present and all paint intact including brows. As mentioned above, the left eye will not work with thimble and seems to be back a ways, not bad enough to detract.  If closed, this eye can be opened with the thimble part way and opened entirely with the touch of the finger.
The dress is original and in nice condition with button closure present.  The booties are original as are the white panties. All clothing in condition without damage.  Booties have light soil.
Hair is rooted and I see no missing plugs.  I could not get the thimble to work on the hair bow.  Maybe I don't know exactly how it works.  There is a magnet in her tummy that you can feel when you pass the thimble over it.  Not sure what it does. The doll is in nice played with condition.
Body is fine with no cracks and all working joints bend and hold a pose well and she is from a nonsmoking  home.  Questions welcome and please check out my other items for more dolls and doll things. Thanks for stopping by
